10 best Sheffield student eats (not in any particular order)

By Laura Yoshimoto Turpin

There are many different places on campus to eat on our campus. Our Students' Union has a range of cafes and restaurants offering something for every taste.

  1. Coffee Revolution
  2. Interval
  3. Bar One
  4. Students' Union shop
  5. Coffee Revolution
  6. New Leaf
  7. Proper pasty
  8. Grill and Go
  9. The View Deli
  10. Inox
    Coffee Revolution
Also known as Coffee Revs, the name already points out its coffee expertise. However, these baristas can whip up more than delicious drinks. There’s a wide range of teas and smoothies, which go great with pastries, sandwiches, and special tempting treats from local suppliers. From 4pm waffles and sundaes are also available to satisfy those cravings.

    Interval
Ranging from your morning croquet monsieur to a lunch-time tandoori chicken flatbread, the Interval has got a meal for you.
Serving a variety of hot&cold sandwiches, wraps, soup and salad from 11am-3pm. It spices the evening with a promise of delicious pizzas from 3pm-9pm.
Weekends can be spent at the Interval enjoying meaty, vegetarian, or vegan English Breakfasts.

     Bar One
A very popular student location, known for its burgers, pool tables, Sunday quiz and Yo-Karaoke nights.
A main meal and a drink are only £7.75 from 4pm all week. But if you fancy a light meal any sandwich, fries and a soft drink are £4.75 from 11am-4pm on weekdays.
Bar One also offers a full meat-free menu, with vegan and vegetarian options. And if you’re allergic to gluten, they can get you gluten-free buns on burgers.
Another treat for vegans: Vegan Burger Club is put on at Bar One once a month. From 4pm, all burgers available are only tasty vegan specials that change every edition.
And let’s not forget BOGOF – A Bar One initiative where you buy one burger and get one free. It happens throughout the semester and it’s a much needed break and boost time during exam period.

    Students' Union shop
Our Shop is the Students' Union's very own local supermarket where you can find stationery, toiletries and more. But the meal deals on offer are truly the best part of Our Shop. The Sandwich King Meal Deal, which can include wraps, wedges, salad bowls and taco wraps, is only £2.89.
While halal, vegan and gluten-free options are available and at a £3.29 meal deal.

    New Leaf
New Leaf is Sheffield Students' Union's innovative Salad Bar. Into fresh and healthy food but want the speediness that fast-food provides? Then it’s time to turn to New Leaf.
With the option of a takeaway salad or wrap for yourself, you can pick and choose whichever ingredients you want. A Salad Meal Deal (salad + drink) is only £4.20 and a Wrap Meal Deal (wrap + drink) is £4. You can even place your order online on every week day and avoid queues on the day!

    Proper Pasty
From 10am-3pm every weekday, mouth-watering Cornish pasties created by hand are baked every morning.
For a quick and filling lunch or even a ‘treat yourself’ day, those pasties will do the job.

    Grill and Go
One of the SU’s favourite. This meatier version of New Leaf offers burritos, hot wraps and salad boxes. But don’t be fooled by the ‘Go’ in the name, the healthy dishes are all cooked fresh and made to order!

    Inox Dine
Inox provides a fine-dining student experience in Sheffield, with dishes shaped by acclaimed Master Chef of Great Britain, Joe Berry. Dishes change seasonally and can be found on their website.
They have two courses for £15 or three courses for £18 until 6.30pm each day.

    The View Deli
A paradise for vegetarians, every single dish at The View Deli is suitable for vegetarians!
With a more relaxed, stay in approach to meat-free meals in comparison to New Leaf, the name is not for nothing since it has a fantastic city backdrop to relish in.
Their chalkboard menu changes daily with vegan and gluten free treats also available.

    Uni Central
On Level 4 of the SU, Uni Central offers burgers, dough pizza and grill & go wrap stations. An array of exciting choices for hungry students includes a starting price of £3.50 for build-your-own burger stack to a slice of 14" pizza for only £2.
